The perfect moment

Love, true love! We have been trying to find the real meaning of true love. We have seen it in movies, read it in books, probably a couple in real life as well. But what I witnessed today, doesn't come close to Romeo and Juliet. They had their moments of course, but today I felt so overwhelmed that I just had to sit down and write this down on a blog I haven't been able to find time for.

So my brother is getting married, and no I am not talking about the love between the soon-to-be newlyweds. The festivities are yet to begin, and we all have just too much work right now. From arranging things to decorating the house. My dad has been handling the entire thing on his own with some help from us and hence has been very stressed, and since it's just the fours of us for now, there isn't anyone to help out right now, but not to worry help is on the way.

My parents had been bickering and fighting since morning over the little details of the wedding. Doing their respective jobs, running around so much, that they did not have time to give me any attention! :P

So, it's 9pm, my brother the groom, is sitting in his room watching a football match, I am sitting in my room watching an episode of Sex and the City, my mum is sitting on the sofa with my aunt discussing the sangeet and my dad is outside overseeing the decoration of the house. And suddenly I hear "Ek ladki ko dekha toh" over my noise-cancellation headphones. I wonder who could it be? Hmm?

I go outside to see my dad dancing and wooing my mum. And trust me he doesn't dance. Eventually, she gets up and joins him, I drag my brother from his football match and we sit on the sofa while our parents dance to their favorite melodies, laughing and having fun. And I think to myself, I don't have to go read Shakespeare or watch the before trilogy or read the notebook about long lost, struggling love. I have my own little live story right here. Amidst the chaos and tension and stress of hosting their son's wedding, my parents found a moment for just themselves, their bickering and little fights are forgotten with every dance step, and looking at them I found my perfect love story.
Of course, after that, we play dance songs, and the four of us dance in our old house, going in circles and enjoying ourselves. I have my love story right here.
